New Youth -the magazine created by Duxiu Chen was the origin of the New Culture Movement. It was where the Chinese scholars of Western learning published their articles and spread their advanced ideology. Thus, New Youth became the “gallery" of their works, and became the vehicle of the New Culture Movement.

*Objecting Confucius was part of New Culture Movement. Scholars published articles about it by New Youth. The above is the later explanation from Mr. Li.

Eight Propositions:
1.Be concrete and having substance in content;
2. No imitating ancients;
3. Be careful about grammar;
4. No sentimental twaddle;
5. No coping from others' words and view of points;
6. No use allusion;
7. Do not use parallel construction;
8. No avoid of vulgar words and idioms.

*Mr. Hu wrote it when he was the graduate student of Columbia University. His words was used by New Youth and became one of main ideas of New Culture Movement. Authenticity is obvious in Mr. Hu. He stated his own words from heart without care for others.

In 1916, Mr. Hu published his translated work “The Duel" of Chekhov in New Youth. This is the first simplified native language novel published in China.
* Mr. Hu and other scholars are all the examples of exitentialism and authenticity. Their appeals were not only remained in thinking process but took actions (writing). Their appeals show what they were really thinking and for freeing Chinese and China out of restrictions.
